About the Index

The Ocean Horizon Mediterranean Index is the world’s first regionally-focused marine economy thematic index, focusing on ocean economy companies operating in the Mediterranean, plus global marine innovators.

The Index combines ocean economy investing with actionable, on-ground environmental efforts to make a positive impact, with a share of revenue from index management fees channelled to local environmental conservation groups*.

The Index offers investors a way to directly support the work done by AKTI (CY), Marevivo (IT) and Nature Trust Malta (MT) whilst gaining exposure to the growing marine economy sector.

*Total management fee includes 10bps which is divided evenly between conservation partners. The Index itself does not have a sustainable investment objective under SFDR Article 6.

Index performance shown is total return data. Index inception date is May 2025. Performance before inception is based on back-tested data. Back-testing is the process of evaluating an investment strategy by applying it to historical data to simulate what the performance of such a strategy would have been. Back-tested data does not represent actual performance and should not be interpreted as an indication of actual or future performance. Past performance is not an indicator for future results

The Ocean Horizon Mediterranean Index considers sustainability risk factors in its constituent selec process but it does not have a sustainable investment objective and does not promote environmental or social characteristics. While a portion of management fees is allocated to conservation partners, this fee channelling does not constitute an environmental investment objective or guarantee environmental outcomes.
